THE RETREAT

“Be still, and know that I am God” –Psalm 46:10

The aim of The Retreat is to take a few days together as a community in a different location to remove ourselves from our daily distractions simply to quiet our hearts and ask God to reveal more of Himself to us through teaching, worship, and time with others.

Get away from distractions…

Getting away from distractions creates the quiet space in your life you need to hear from God.

If you look at the life of Jesus you will see that he often withdrew to quiet and solitary places to escape the voices of life so that he could clearly hear the voice of his Father. The Retreat gives you a weekend to clear your mind of the everyday distractions of life in order to hear from God.

Grow closer with others…

Growing closer with others can be a really big challenge with all the responsibilities and distractions of normal everyday life.

Sometimes we need extended time to focus on growing these relationships with others. We also believe that God often meets the needs and burdens of our lives through his people. The Retreat will create time and space for you to grow and strengthen your relationships with other brothers and sisters in God’s family.

Grow closer with God…

Growing in intimacy with our heavenly Father is one of the greatest gifts we have as Christians.

The Bible says that when you draw near to God he will draw near to you. Our Father wants us to grow in awareness of the compassionate love he is always pouring over us. The Retreat will give you a refreshing weekend to draw near to God and pursue a deeper relationship with him.

Come to Serve!

“…Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:26-28).

Jesus spent all of his time pouring himself out to serve and bless those around him. He has given us the ultimate blessing of restoring our relationship with God and bringing us into his family. Now he calls all of his followers to imitate his life of service to others.

We have a great opportunity for you at The Retreat to serve the young adults of 7ten.

Have fun prepping, serving food, and working behind the scenes to bless our young adults as you connect with others around you. There are many things that have to happen in order to make this retreat what it is and it all happens by faithful men and women who have an eager heart to serve!
